Wil Jacques is Verna Law’s patent agent. After stints with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Prudential, Union Carbide/Praxair, Competitive Technologies, IP Finance, Nerac, CPA Global, and Sun Life Financial, analyst-marketer Wil Jacques entered the world of patent prosecution. Wil Jacques is a senior intellectual property subject matter expert with over 25 years of development, patenting, commercialization, and licensing experience in public and private sector engineering, manufacturing, and sales organizations. Though providing a broader range of services, his practice focuses on assisting early-stage entrepreneurs and companies attract capital investments and out-licensing opportunities with larger more established market players. His specific competencies include patent prosecution, patented technology valuation, market due diligence, business opportunity identification, and licensing negotiations as an agent of the patent and/or technology owner.

Judy Endejan is a Seattle attorney whose practice focuses on telecommunications, media and intellectual property issues. Her background is a unique blend of private practice and in-house experience. Judy spent ten years with GTE Corporation (now Verizon), acquiring substantial experience in public utility regulation and administrative law. During 2006, Judy took off a year from private practice and served as General Counsel for Fisher Communications, Inc., a major Northwest broadcast corporation.
Judy has represented a wide range of clients with case under the First Amendment, the Federal Communications Act, intellectual property laws and the regulatory laws of California, Washington and Oregon. They include established, and new telecommunications providers that offer landline, wireless, VoIP and M2M services. Also, new and old forms of content providers, from broadcasters, publishers and newspapers to web-site owners and bloggers. Judy’s practice has run the gamut from pre-publication review to clearance and licensing issues to negotiation of sophisticated communications and technology contracts, advising on the legal and business issues facing clients in the ever-changing convergence of telecommunication, media and technology.
A former professional journalist herself, Judy Endejan has made a major mark on the state of Free Speech and Free Press law. Among her accomplishments, Judy obtained a landmark ruling that the academic speech of a university professor is protected by the First Amendment; forced the release of key public records regarding defects with the construction of the new floating bridge over Lake Washington; and won summary judgment for a broadcaster sued for remarks made by callers to a radio talk show, later affirmed by the Washington Court of Appeals.
Judy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and UW Law School, and has contributed chapters to the original and updated “Public Records Act Deskbook” published by the Washington State Bar Association.
